15. Formal Translation But the king did not listen to the people, for this turn was from the LORD {Yahweh, Sovereign Director}, in order to establish His word, which the LORD spoke by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat. |
15. Dynamic Translation The king refused to listen to the people, because what happened came from the LORD {Yahweh, Purpose Fulfiller}, so that He would keep the promise He had spoken through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat. |
