15. Formal Translation
But the king did not listen to the people, for this turn was from the LORD {Yahweh, Sovereign Director}, in order to establish His word, which the LORD spoke by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat.
15. Dynamic Translation
The king refused to listen to the people, because what happened came from the LORD {Yahweh, Purpose Fulfiller}, so that He would keep the promise He had spoken through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat.
