16. Formal Translation And all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, and the people answered the king with a word, saying, “What portion is there for us in David? And we have no inheritance in the son of Jesse. To your tents, Israel! Now see to your own house, David.” So Israel went to their tents. |
16. Dynamic Translation When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, the people answered him, “What share do we have in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse. Go home to your tents, Israel! Take care of your own house, David.” So the people of Israel went back to their homes. |
