Exegesis

The emphatic copula hu {הוּא | hūʾ} in ish haelohim hu asher marah et-pi YHWH {אִישׁ הָאֱלֹהִים הוּא אֲשֶׁר מָרָה אֶת־פִּי יְהוָה | ʾîš hāʼĕlōhîm hūʾ ʾăšer marāh ʾet-pî Yəhōwāh} ‘It is the man of God who rebelled against the mouth of the LORD’ highlights the subject.

The concluding clause kidvar YHWH asher diber-lo {כִּדְבַר יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר־לֽוֹ | kîdᵉḇār Yəhōwāh ʾăšer dibber-lô} ‘according to the word of the LORD which He spoke to him’ frames fulfillment of divine decree. The Hebrew VSO structure is rendered in natural English SVO order to preserve readability while maintaining the sequence of theological motifs.
