Exegesis

The sequence then uses two more wayyiqtol verbs—vayyighar {וַיִּגְהַ֣ר | wayyighar} ‘and he crouched down’ and vayyasem {וַיָּ֥שֶׂם | wayyāśem} ‘and he put’—to portray a single continuous posture of humility.
