Exegesis

Two imperatives—tse {צֵא | ṣēʾ} ‘go out’ and veamadta {וְעָמַדְתָּ | wə-ʿā-maḏ-tā} ‘and stand’—direct Elijah to position himself bahar {בָהָר | bā-hār} lifnei YHWH {לִפְנֵי יְהוָה | li-p̄-nē Yəhōwāh}, the theophanic locus.
