The conjunction yaan {יַעַן | ya-ʿan} ‘because’ introduces the cause clause headed by the Piel perfect shilakhta {שִׁלַּ֥חְתָּ | šil-lak-tā} ‘you released’, with the direct object et-ish-khermi {אֶת־אִישׁ־חֶרְמִ֖י | ʾet-ʼîš-ḥer-mî} ‘the man devoted to destruction’.
