1 Kings 8:47:1וְהֵשִׁ֙יבוּ֙veheshivuand they bring back
1 Kings 8:47:2אֶל־לִבָּ֔םellibbamto their heart 1 Kings 8:47:3בָּאָ֖רֶץbaaretsin the land 1 Kings 8:47:4אֲשֶׁ֣רasherwhich 1 Kings 8:47:5נִשְׁבּוּ־שָׁ֑םnishbevushamthey were taken captive there 1 Kings 8:47:6וְשָׁ֣בוּveshavuand they return 1 Kings 8:47:7וְהִֽתְחַנְּנ֣וּvehitkhannenuand they plead for favor 1 Kings 8:47:8אֵלֶ֗יךָelekhato you 1 Kings 8:47:9בְּאֶ֤רֶץbeeretsin the land of 1 Kings 8:47:10שֹֽׁבֵיהֶם֙shovehemtheir captors 1 Kings 8:47:11לֵאמֹ֔רlemorsaying 1 Kings 8:47:12חָטָ֥אנוּkhatanuwe have sinned 1 Kings 8:47:13וְהֶעֱוִ֖ינוּvehevinuand we have done wrong 1 Kings 8:47:14רָשָֽׁעְנוּ׃rashanuwe have acted wickedly
47. Formal Translation
If they restore their hearts in the land where they were taken captive and return and make supplication to You {Elohim, Compassionate Sustainer} in the land of their captors, declaring, “We have sinned; we have acted perversely; we have committed iniquity.”
47. Dynamic Translation
If, while in the land where they are held captive, they awaken to their error and appeal to You {Elohim, Prayer Receiver} in the land of those holding them captive, saying, “We have sinned, we have done wrong, and we have acted wickedly.”
