21. Formal Translation Their descendants who remained after them in the land—those whom the sons of Israel could not utterly destroy—were consigned as forced laborers under Solomon, and this continues to this day. |
21. Dynamic Translation Solomon conscripted the remaining inhabitants of the land—those whom the Israelites could not completely wipe out—into slave labor, and they remain in that status to this day. |
