35. Formal Translation
And Samuel did not continue to see Saul again until the day of his death, for Samuel mourned for Saul. The LORD {Yahweh, Divine Sovereign} regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.
35. Dynamic Translation
Samuel never saw Saul again until the day he died, because Samuel mourned for Saul. The LORD {Yahweh, Ruler of Israel} was sorry that He had chosen Saul to be king over Israel.
