The sequence ve-hesir kherpah me-al yisrael {וְהֵסִיר חֶרְפָּה מֵעַ֣ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל | wə-hē-sîr ḥer-pāh mē-‘āl yīś-rā-’ēl} ‘and removes disgrace from Israel’ asserts communal honor.
