Exegesis

Dialogue commences with wayyomer {וַיֹּאמֶר | wayyōʾmer}, and lo ukhal {לֹ֥א אוּכַ֛ל | lōʾ ūḵal} in the Qal imperfect conveys inability.

The repetition of lalechet and negated Piel perfect nissiti {לֹ֣א נִסִּיתִי | lōʾ nissîṯî} reinforces his inexperience.
