25. Formal Translation If a man sins against another man, God {Elohim, Judge of Disputes} will intercede for him; but if a man sins against the LORD {Yahweh, Enforcer of Covenant}, who can intercede for him? They did not listen to the voice of their father, because the LORD desired to put them to death. |
25. Dynamic Translation If someone wrongs another person, God {Elohim, Ultimate Advocate} can intercede for him. But if someone sins against the LORD {Yahweh, Supreme Judge}, who could pray on his behalf? They still refused to listen to their father’s voice, because the LORD intended to bring about their death. |
