| 39. Formal Translation When David heard that Nabal had died, he said, “Blessed is the LORD {Yahweh, Protector of Justice} who has upheld my cause of disgrace from the hand of Nabal and who has kept his servant from evil and has returned the evil of Nabal upon his own head.” Then David sent and spoke to Abigail to take her as his wife. |

Dynamic Translation When David heard that Nabal had died, he exclaimed, “Praise the LORD {Yahweh, Defender of My Honor} who has vindicated me against Nabal’s insults and has kept his servant from doing wrong and has brought Nabal’s wrongdoing down on his own head.” Then David sent a message to Abigail, asking her to become his wife. |
