3. Formal Translation
The Ashdodites rose early the next day, and behold, Dagon had fallen face down on the ground before the ark of the LORD {Yahweh, Divine Victor}. They took Dagon and returned him to his place.
3. Dynamic Translation
Early the next morning the people of Ashdod discovered Dagon collapsed face down on the ground in front of the LORD’s {Yahweh, Supreme Overcomer} ark. They picked him up and put him back where he belonged.
