1 Samuel 5:7:1וַיִּרְא֥וּvayiruand they saw

7. Formal Translation
The men of Ashdod saw that it was so, and they said, “The ark of the God of Israel {Yahweh Elohei Yisrael, Mighty Judge} shall not remain with us, for His hand is severe upon us and upon Dagon our god.”
7. Dynamic Translation
When the people of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said, “The ark of Israel’s God {Yahweh Elohei Yisrael, National Defender} cannot stay here with us, because His hand is heavy against us and against Dagon, our god.”
