1 Samuel 6:3:1וַיֹּאמְר֗וּvayomeruand they said
1 Samuel 6:3:2אִֽם־מְשַׁלְּחִ֞יםimmeshallekhimif sending away 1 Samuel 6:3:3אֶת־אֲר֨וֹןetaronthe ark of 1 Samuel 6:3:4אֱלֹהֵ֤יelohethe God of 1 Samuel 6:3:5יִשְׂרָאֵל֙yisraelIsrael 1 Samuel 6:3:6אַל־תְּשַׁלְּח֤וּalteshallekhudo not send away 1 Samuel 6:3:7אֹתוֹ֙otoit 1 Samuel 6:3:8רֵיקָ֔םrekamempty 1 Samuel 6:3:9כִּֽי־הָשֵׁ֥בkihashevbut returning 1 Samuel 6:3:10תָּשִׁ֛יבוּtashivuyou shall return 1 Samuel 6:3:11ל֖וֹloto him 1 Samuel 6:3:12אָשָׁ֑םashama guilt offering 1 Samuel 6:3:13אָ֤זazthen 1 Samuel 6:3:14תֵּרָֽפְאוּ֙terafeuyou will be healed 1 Samuel 6:3:15וְנוֹדַ֣עvenodaand it will be known 1 Samuel 6:3:16לָכֶ֔םlakhemto you 1 Samuel 6:3:17לָ֛מָּהlammawhy 1 Samuel 6:3:18לֹא־תָס֥וּרlotasurdoes not turn away 1 Samuel 6:3:19יָד֖וֹyadohis hand 1 Samuel 6:3:20מִכֶּֽם׃mikkhemfrom you
3. Formal Translation
And they said, “If you send away the ark of the God of Israel, do not send it away empty, but you shall surely return to him a guilt offering. Then you will be healed, and it will be made known to you why His hand has not turned aside from you.”
3. Dynamic Translation
They answered, “If you return the ark of the God of Israel, do not send it back empty. Be sure to include a guilt offering when you send it. Then you will be healed, and you will learn why His hand has not left you.”
