13. Formal Translation And King Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem and reigned, for he was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city the LORD {Yahweh, Chosen Dwelling} had chosen to place His Name there from among all the tribes of Israel. The name of his mother was Naamah the Ammonitess. |
13. Dynamic Translation King Rehoboam established his rule in Jerusalem and was king. He was forty-one years old when he began to reign and ruled seventeen years in Jerusalem—the city the LORD {Yahweh, Chosen City} had picked out of all Israel's tribes as the place for His Name. His mother's name was Naamah, who was from Ammon. |
