The subsequent vav-consecutive Qal imperfect vayishlach {וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח | wayyišlaḥ} ‘and he sent’ introduces the sending action directed by el-benhaddad melekh aram hayoshev bedarmeseq {אֶל־בֶּן־הֲדַד מֶלֶךְ אֲרָם הַיּוֹשֵׁב בְּדַרְמֶשֶׂק | ʾel-bĕn-hă-ḏaḏ meleḵ ʾă-rām hayyōšēḇ bə-dar-me-seq} “to Ben-Hadad king of Aram who was dwelling in Damascus.”
