| 3. Formal Translation There is a covenant between me and you, just as there was between my father and your father. Look, I have sent you silver and gold. Go and break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel so that he will withdraw from me. |
| 3. Dynamic Translation Let there be a treaty between us, as there was between our fathers. See, I am sending you silver and gold. Now go and break your treaty with Baasha, king of Israel, so that he will leave me alone and pull back. |
