| 1. Formal Translation The inhabitants of Jerusalem enthroned Ahaziah, his youngest son, as king in his place because the troop that came with the Arabs to the camp had killed all the older sons. Then Ahaziah son of Jehoram, king of Judah, began to reign. |
| 1. Dynamic Translation So the people of Jerusalem installed Ahaziah, Jehoram’s youngest son, as king in his place, because the raiding band that came with the Arabs into the camp had killed all his older brothers. That is how Ahaziah, son of Jehoram, began his reign as king of Judah. |
