Exegesis

The sequence el mevo shaar hasusim {אֶל־מְב֥וֹא שַֽׁעַר־הַסּוּסִים | ʾel məb-bōʾ šāʿar ha-sūsîm} shows a double construct chain ‘to the entrance of the Horse Gate’, while beit hamelekh {בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּלֶךְ | bêt hammeleḵ} is a construct-absolute phrase ‘house of the king’.
