Ahaz ascended the throne at twenty years of age and reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem; yet he failed to act uprightly before the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Judge}, as David his father {aviv: ancestor, direct forebear} had done.

Ahaz became king at twenty and ruled in Jerusalem for sixteen years, yet he did not live uprightly in the sight of the LORD {Yahweh, Standard of Justice}, unlike his ancestor {aviv: family head, honored predecessor} David.
