| 17. Formal Translation He {Yahweh, Divine Judge} brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans and killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary. He had no pity on the young man or the virgin, the old man or the aged; He delivered them all into his hand. |
| 17. Dynamic Translation He {Yahweh, Sovereign Executor} allowed the Chaldean king to come against them, and he slaughtered their young men with the sword inside their sanctuary. He showed no mercy to young man or maiden, to the elderly or to those bent with age; everyone was handed over into his hand. |
