19. Formal Translation He took the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, the guards, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king down from the house of the LORD {Yahweh, Temple Sovereign}. They proceeded through the guards’ gate to the king’s house, and he sat on the throne of the kings. |
19. Dynamic Translation He assembled the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, the palace guards, and all the people of the land. Next they escorted the king from the LORD’s {Yahweh, Divine Protector} temple through the guards’ gate into the palace, where he assumed the royal throne. |
