| 3. Formal Translation He walked in the way of the kings of Israel and also made his son pass through the fire like the abominations of the nations whom the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Judge} had driven out before the sons of Israel. |
| 3. Dynamic Translation He followed the example of Israel’s kings and even made his own son go through fire in imitation of the disgusting practices of those peoples whom the LORD {Yahweh, Justice Giver} had driven out ahead of Israel. |
