| 16. Formal Translation And they forsook all the commandments of the LORD their God and made for themselves a molten idol of two calves, set up an Asherah pole, bowed down to all the host of heaven, and served Baal. |
| 16. Dynamic Translation They rejected every command of the LORD their God, fashioned two calf-shaped idols, erected an Asherah pole, bowed to the starry hosts and worshiped Baal. |
