| 15. Formal Translation And they rejected his statutes and his covenant which he made with their ancestors, as well as his testimonies which he bore witness among them. And they went after vanity and became vain, following the nations around them whom the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Judge} had commanded them not to do as they did. |
| 15. Dynamic Translation They turned away from his laws and the agreement he made with their forefathers, and from the warnings he had spoken to them. They pursued empty idols and became empty themselves, following the nations around them, even though the LORD {Yahweh, National Protector} had told them not to live like those nations. |
