   and he took Hezekiah the scrolls or letters from the hand of the messengers and he read them and he went up the house of the LORD and he spread it Hezekiah before the LORD

Sequential actions follow with vayyiqraʼem {וַיִּקְרָאֵ֑ם | vā-yiq-rā-ʾem} ‘and he read them’, vayyaʻal {וַיַּעַל | vā-yyā-ʿal} ‘and he went up’, and vayyipreshehu {וַיִּפְרְשֵׂ֥הוּ | vā-yiṗ-rə-śē-hū} ‘and he spread it’.
