| 15. Formal Translation And also the altar that was in Bethel, the high place that Jeroboam son of Nebat made, who caused Israel to sin; also that altar and the high place he tore down. Then he burned the high place, crushed it to dust, and burned the Asherah pole. |
| 15. Dynamic Translation He also pulled down the altar at Bethel, the high-place shrine made by Jeroboam son of Nebat, who drew Israel into sin. He tore down that altar and the shrine, burned the shrine, ground it into dust, and burned the Asherah. |
