7. Formal Translation He departed and dispatched word to Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, saying, “The king of Moab has rebelled against me. Will you accompany me to engage Moab in battle?” Jehoshaphat responded, “I will go up; I stand with you—my people as your people, my horses as your horses.” |
7. Dynamic Translation He sent a message to Jehoshaphat, king of Judah: “Moab’s king has broken his allegiance to me. Will you join me to fight against Moab?” Jehoshaphat answered, “I will go; I stand with you—my people as your people, my horses as your horses.” |
