9. Formal Translation So the king of Israel, the king of Judah, and the king of Edom journeyed by a winding path for seven days; yet there was no water for the camp or for the livestock at their feet. |
9. Dynamic Translation The king of Israel set out with the kings of Judah and Edom on a circuitous route for seven days; then the army ran out of water—and so did the animals trailing at their heels. |
