2 Kings 4:29:1וַיֹּ֨אמֶרvayomerand he said
2 Kings 4:29:2לְגֵיחֲזִ֜יlegekhazito Gehazi 2 Kings 4:29:3חֲגֹ֣רkhagorgird 2 Kings 4:29:4מָתְנֶ֗יךָmotnekhayour waist or your loins 2 Kings 4:29:5וְקַ֨חvekakhand take 2 Kings 4:29:6מִשְׁעַנְתִּ֣יmishanettimy staff 2 Kings 4:29:7בְיָדְךָ֮veyodkhain your hand 2 Kings 4:29:8וָלֵךְ֒valekhand go 2 Kings 4:29:9כִּֽי־תִמְצָ֥אkitimtsafor you will find or if you find 2 Kings 4:29:10אִישׁ֙isha man 2 Kings 4:29:11לֹ֣אlonot 2 Kings 4:29:12תְבָרְכֶ֔נּוּtevarkhenuyou shall bless him or you shall greet him 2 Kings 4:29:13וְכִֽי־יְבָרֶכְךָ֥vekhiyevarekkhaand if he blesses you or and if he greets you 2 Kings 4:29:14אִ֖ישׁisha man 2 Kings 4:29:15לֹ֣אlonot 2 Kings 4:29:16תַעֲנֶ֑נּוּtaanenuyou shall answer him or you shall respond to him 2 Kings 4:29:17וְשַׂמְתָּ֥vesamtaand you shall put 2 Kings 4:29:18מִשְׁעַנְתִּ֖יmishanettimy staff 2 Kings 4:29:19עַל־פְּנֵ֥יalpeneon the face of 2 Kings 4:29:20הַנָּֽעַר׃hanaarthe boy
29. Formal Translation
And he said to Gehazi, “Gird your loins, and take my staff in your hand, and go. If you meet a man, do not greet him, and if anyone greets you, do not answer him. Place my staff upon the face of the boy.”
29. Dynamic Translation
Elisha told Gehazi, “Tie up your robe and get ready. Take my staff, go quickly, and if you see anyone on the way, do not stop to greet them, and if someone greets you, do not respond. Put my staff on the boy’s face.”
