Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) 2 Kings 4:41:1 ⧉וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vayomerand he said 2 Kings 4:41:2 ⧉וּקְחוּ־קֶ֔מַחukekhukemakhand take flour 2 Kings 4:41:3 ⧉וַיַּשְׁלֵ֖ךְvayashlekhand he threw 2 Kings 4:41:4 ⧉אֶל־הַסִּ֑ירelhasirinto the pot 2 Kings 4:41:5 ⧉וַיֹּ֗אמֶרvayomerand he said 2 Kings 4:41:6 ⧉צַ֤קtsakpour 2 Kings 4:41:7 ⧉לָעָם֙laamto the people 2 Kings 4:41:8 ⧉וְיֹאכֵ֔לוּveyokheluand let them eat 2 Kings 4:41:9 ⧉וְלֹ֥אveloand not 2 Kings 4:41:10 ⧉הָיָ֛הhayathere was 2 Kings 4:41:11 ⧉דָּבָ֥רdavara thing 2 Kings 4:41:12 ⧉רָ֖עraevil or harmful 2 Kings 4:41:13 ⧉בַּסִּֽיר׃סbasirin the pot |
41. Formal Translation And he said, “Take some flour.” And he threw it into the pot. Then he said, “Pour it out for the people, and let them eat.” And there was nothing harmful {ra: injurious, damaging} in the pot. |
41. Dynamic Translation Elisha said, “Get some flour.” He put it into the pot. Then he said, “Serve it to the people so they can eat.” Nothing harmful remained in the pot. |
