Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) 2 Kings 5:17:1 ⧉וַיֹּאמֶר֮vayomerand he said 2 Kings 5:17:2 ⧉נַעֲמָן֒naamanNaaman 2 Kings 5:17:3 ⧉וָלֹ֕אvaloand not 2 Kings 5:17:4 ⧉יֻתַּן־נָ֣אyutannamay it be given, please 2 Kings 5:17:5 ⧉לְעַבְדְּךָ֔leavdekhato your servant 2 Kings 5:17:6 ⧉מַשָּׂ֥אmasaa load, a burden 2 Kings 5:17:7 ⧉צֶֽמֶד־פְּרָדִ֖יםtsemedperadima pair of mules 2 Kings 5:17:8 ⧉אֲדָמָ֑הadamaearth, soil 2 Kings 5:17:9 ⧉כִּ֡יkifor, because 2 Kings 5:17:10 ⧉לֽוֹא־יַעֲשֶׂה֩loyaasehe will not do, he will not make 2 Kings 5:17:11 ⧉ע֨וֹדodagain, any more 2 Kings 5:17:12 ⧉עַבְדְּךָ֜avdekhayour servant 2 Kings 5:17:13 ⧉עֹלָ֤הolaburnt offering 2 Kings 5:17:14 ⧉וָזֶ֙בַח֙vazevakhand sacrifice 2 Kings 5:17:15 ⧉לֵאלֹהִ֣יםlelohimto a god, to gods 2 Kings 5:17:16 ⧉אֲחֵרִ֔יםakherimother {ones} 2 Kings 5:17:17 ⧉כִּ֖יkibut, except, for 2 Kings 5:17:18 ⧉אִם־לַיהוָֽה׃imlayahwehif except to the LORD |
17. Formal Translation And Naaman said, “If you do not, let a load of earth, as much as a pair of mules can carry, please be given to your servant, for your servant will no longer offer burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but only to the LORD {Yahweh, Worship Recipient}.” |
17. Dynamic Translation Naaman said, “Then please let your servant take as much soil as two mules can carry, because I will never again present a burnt offering or any sacrifice to any god except the LORD {Yahweh, Only True God}.” |
