30. Formal Translation And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he tore his garments, and as he passed upon the wall, the people saw—and behold, the sackcloth was upon his flesh from within. |
30. Dynamic Translation When the king heard what the woman said, he ripped his clothes. As he walked along the city wall, the people saw that he had sackcloth on his flesh beneath his robes. |
