13. Formal Translation One of his servants answered and said, “Please let them take five of the horses remaining in the city—they are like the rest of the multitude of Israel who have remained here; they are like the rest of the multitude of Israel who have perished. Let us send them and see.” |
13. Dynamic Translation One of the king’s attendants responded, “Let us take five of the horses left in the city. Their situation mirrors that of all the Israelites who have survived—they are no better off than those who died. Let us send them out to discover what has happened.” |
