16. Formal Translation In the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab, king of Israel, with Jehoshaphat ruling Judah, Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat began to reign as king of Judah. |
16. Dynamic Translation During the fifth year of Joram, Ahab’s son and king of Israel, while Jehoshaphat was still governing Judah {Yehudah: praise, tribe descended from Jacob’s son}, Jehoram, Jehoshaphat’s son, took up kingship in Judah. |
