27. Formal Translation When Ahaziah the king of Judah saw what had happened, he fled by the way of the House of the Garden. Jehu pursued him and said, “Strike him too!” And they struck him in the chariot at the ascent of Gur, which is beside Ibleam. He fled to Megiddo and died there. |
27. Dynamic Translation When Ahaziah, king of Judah, saw this, he ran away along the road to the Garden House. Jehu chased him and shouted, “Shoot him in his chariot!” They did so on the slope up to Gur beside Ibleam. Ahaziah escaped to Megiddo but died there. |
