20. Formal Translation
For if, after having escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ {Kyrios kai Soter Iesous Christos, Faithful Redeeming Judge}, they again become entangled in these things and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.
20. Dynamic Translation
For if, after fleeing the corruptions of the world by knowing the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ {Kyrios kai Soter Iesous Christos, Gracious Rescuing Lord}, they get caught up in them again and are defeated, they end up worse off at the end than at the beginning.
