21. Formal Translation Who struck Abimelech son of Jerubbesheth {Jerubbaal’s alias}? Was it not a woman who cast a piece of an upper millstone upon him from the wall, so that he died in Tevetz? Why did you come near the wall? Then you shall say, “Your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.” |
21. Dynamic Translation Who killed Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? Was it not a woman who dropped an upper millstone on him from the wall, causing him to die at Tevetz? Why did you get close to the wall? If he asks, tell him, “Your servant Uriah has also died.” |
