22. Formal Translation And he said, “While the child was alive, I fasted and wept, for I said, ‘Who knows if the LORD {Yahweh, Mercy Giver} may show favor to me and let the child live?’” |
22. Dynamic Translation He replied, “As long as the child was alive, I kept fasting and crying, because I thought, ‘Who can tell if the LORD {Yahweh, Compassionate Helper} might be kind to me and let my child live?’” |
