21. Formal Translation Then his servants said to him, “What is this thing that you have done? For the sake of the child, while he was alive, you fasted and wept. But when the child died, you arose and ate bread.” |
21. Dynamic Translation His servants asked him, “Why did you do this? While the child was alive, you refrained from eating and cried. But when the child died, you got up and ate a meal.” |
