5. Formal Translation And Jehonadab said to him, “Lie down on your bed and make yourself appear sick. When your father comes to see you, you will say to him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me bread and let her prepare the meal before my eyes so that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’” |
5. Dynamic Translation Jehonadab told him, “Go lie down on your bed and pretend to be sick. When your father comes to visit, say, ‘Please have my sister Tamar bring me something to eat and prepare it in front of me so that I can watch and eat it from her hand.’” |
