2 Samuel 14:17:1וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙vatomerand she said
2 Samuel 14:17:2שִׁפְחָ֣תְךָ֔shivkhatekhayour female servant 2 Samuel 14:17:3יִֽהְיֶה־נָּ֛אyihhenamay it be, please 2 Samuel 14:17:4דְּבַר־אֲדֹנִ֥יdevaradonithe word of my lord 2 Samuel 14:17:5הַמֶּ֖לֶךְhamelekhthe king 2 Samuel 14:17:6לִמְנוּחָ֑הlimnukhafor rest 2 Samuel 14:17:7כִּ֣יkifor 2 Samuel 14:17:8כְּמַלְאַ֣ךְkemalakhlike an angel of 2 Samuel 14:17:9הָאֱלֹהִ֗יםhaelohimGod 2 Samuel 14:17:10כֵּ֣ןkenso, thus 2 Samuel 14:17:11אֲדֹנִ֤יadonimy lord 2 Samuel 14:17:12הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙hamelekhthe king 2 Samuel 14:17:13לִשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙lishmoato hear 2 Samuel 14:17:14הַטּ֣וֹבhatovthe good 2 Samuel 14:17:15וְהָרָ֔עveharaand the evil 2 Samuel 14:17:16וַֽיהוָ֥הvayahwehand the LORD 2 Samuel 14:17:17אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָelohekhayour God 2 Samuel 14:17:18יְהִ֥יyehimay he be 2 Samuel 14:17:19עִמָּֽךְ׃פimmakhwith you
17. Formal Translation
And your maidservant said, “May the word of my lord the king provide rest, for like an angel of God, so is my lord the king in discerning the good and the evil. May the LORD your God be with you.”
17. Dynamic Translation
Then your servant said, “May the king’s word bring relief, because my lord the king is like an angel of God in knowing what is right and wrong. May the LORD your God go with you.”
