14. Formal Translation
And Joab said, “I will not linger like this before you.” Then he took three javelins in his hand and thrust them into Absalom’s heart while he was still alive in the heart of the oak tree.
14. Dynamic Translation
Joab said, “I am not going to wait like this for you.” So he took three javelins in his hand and drove them into Absalom’s heart while he was still alive, caught in the oak.
