Exegesis

Two polite prohibitions employ the negative particle al {אַל | ʾal} with the imperfect aspect to form jussive commands: al-yakhashav-li {אַל־יַחֲשָׁב־לִי | ʾal-yaḥăšāḇ-lî} ‘let it not be reckoned to me’ and ve-al-tasem {וְאַל־תָּשֵׂם | wə-ʾal-tāsem} ‘and do not place’.
