27. Formal Translation Joab said, “As God lives, if you had not spoken, then by the morning the people would have withdrawn, each man from pursuing his brother.” |
27. Dynamic Translation Joab replied, “As surely as God lives, if you had not spoken, then by morning the men would have pulled back, each man ceasing to pursue his brother.” |
