14. Formal Translation
As Paul was about to speak, Gallio said to the Jews, “If this were a case of wrongdoing or a serious evil act, O Jews, it would be reasonable for me to bear with you.”
14. Dynamic Translation
Just as Paul was getting ready to speak, Gallio said to the Jewish people, “If this were really about some kind of injustice or a serious crime, O Jews, then it would be reasonable for me to listen to your case.”
