Exegesis

The next clause, Ioudaious ouden ēdikēsa {Ἰουδαίους οὐδὲν ἠδίκησα | I-ou-daí-ous ou-dé n ē-di-kē-sa}, highlights Paul’s claim of innocence. The fronted direct object Ioudaious ‘the Jews’ makes explicit the party alleging wrongdoing, while ouden, an accusative neuter form used adverbially, intensifies the denial: ‘I did no wrong at all’ to them. The aorist ēdikēsa portrays his behavior as a completed whole that is entirely free from injustice.

But Paul said, “I am standing at Caesar ’s judgment seat , where I ought to be judged; I have done nothing wrong to the Jews, as you yourself know better.”
