Exegesis
The purpose indicator eis touto gar {εἰς τοῦτο γὰρ | eîs toûto gàr} ‘for this purpose’ introduces ophthen soi {ὤφθην σοι | ōphthēn soi} ‘I appeared to you,’ presenting the Christophany as a completed divine revelation.
The genitive relative clauses hôn te eides me te hôn te ophthēsomai soi {ὧν τε εἶδές με τε ὧν τε ὀφθήσομαί σοι | hôn te eîdes me te hôn te ophthḗsomai soi} ‘of which both you saw me and of which both I will appear to you’ balance past and future revelations, highlighting the continuity of Christ’s disclosure.
